- Can I take my theory test before my 17th birthday?No. You require a provisional driving licence to apply for your theory test.
- I am nearly 17, when can I apply for a driving licence?You can apply for your provisional driving licence up to 3 months before your 17th birthday by contacting the DVLA.
- Will it help if I start practising with my parents before going out with an instructor?It is better that you begin your lessons with a professional instructor. The driving test is set to a standard and very specific in the way learners should be taught. It will be difficult to undo any bad habits.
- How many lessons will I need to do before I can take my driving test?It depends on how quick you learn. How much time and effort you put in and what your budget is. It is recommended about 35 – 45 hours of professional training along with 20+ hours extra practice with parents or friends will give you a better chance of passing your test 1st time.
- What type of car will I take my test in?There are no "test cars". You will take your test in your instructor's vehicle.
- How long after passing my practical test should I wait before taking the Pass Plus?Pass Plus is aimed at new drivers and should be taken up within the first year after gaining a full licence. Most new drivers take up the Pass Plus in the first few weeks after passing whilst the learning process is still fresh in their minds.
- How many hours do I need to do to pass the Pass Plus?The Pass Plus is a minimum of 6 hours and covers six modules. How long it takes is up to the individual. The good news is, there is no test at the end of it.
- Can I get a discount on my Pass Plus course. Most Instructors have a set fee. You can apply to your local authority for a refund of upto 50% of the fee. For this you will need to attend a wokshop. Check with your local authority.
